About emergencyradio.co.uk
Find your BBC local station's FM frequency, choose a wind-up or battery radio that suits you, test it in two minutes and check whether an old set still works.
emergencyradio.co.uk is an independent information website. We explain practical topics (rules, deadlines, indicative calculations) starting from official sources, which every page cites together with the date it was last checked.
How the pages are made. An AI system compiles and updates Emergency Radio UK from published station details, the government's Be Ready checklist and radio industry notices, linked on every page. Calculators and checkers follow fixed, tested rules, not AI estimates.
What we are not. We are not a public authority and we are not affiliated with any institution, company or platform mentioned. We do not give tax, legal, financial or investment advice.
How we work. Each page shows its official source, the date it was checked and a link to it. If you spot a mistake, write to contact@emergencyradio.co.uk; we check and correct it, and the change appears in the change log.
Money and ads. The website is currently free and carries no advertising, subscriptions or affiliate links. If that changes, we will say so clearly on this page.
